• Care Package from the College of DuPage
  Items included in care package are as follows: Item #1: School newspaper - Courier - from February 22, 2008. The headline on the paper reads: NIU grief counseling provided to students. Inside the paper on page 3 is an announcement of the upcoming NIU Day of Remembrance on February 25th, 2008. Item #2: School newspaper - Courier - from February 29, 2008. The headline on the paper reads: Monday's standing room only memorial allows students, employees time to grieve NIU's loss. Inside paper on page 3 is an article about the DuPage Ribbon & Button Project for NIU Remembrance. Item #3: Black marble paperweight with gray etching with DuPage logo reading: College of DuPage Foundation. Item #4: Shiny, dark gray ball-point pen with DuPage logo reading on cap: College of DuPage. Item #5: White button with crying huskie dog logo reading in black and red: Today we are all Huskies: College of DuPage. Attached to pin is a small black ribbon. Size: 2.25" diameter. Item #6: Leather journal with feather pen on cover and gold-trim pages. Inside are messages and signatures from the community of the College of DuPage. About half of the pages are filled with hundreds of messages. First page has a poem by William Wordsworth entitled "Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood." Size: 7" wide by 9.25" tall. Item #7: Photographs from the College of DuPage's Day of Remembrance for NIU. Two print-outs of photographs, the rest of which are included in their original size on a CD-R. Item #8: Program / Transcription of the proceedings of the NIU Day of Remembrance held at the College of DuPage on February 25, 2008. Program is bound together with black ribbon and has a crying huskie dog logo at the top of the front page. Size: 8.5" wide by 11" tall.
• Music CD from Bob Gora & Robert Gora, Jr.
  CD in orange plastic sleeve reading: A song to remember: We hope these songs touch your heart. Songs on CD include: 1. "I Hope Not" 3:49 2. I'm Right Here 3:46 Letter included with explanation and history of songs reading: "Bobby G": "Our Schools". Letter mentions writing a song after the Columbine shootings.
• Posters from Fairleigh Dickinson University
  White posters reading: Expression of Sympathy from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Condolence note underneath heading and various messages, prayers and signatures on the posters. Quantity: 2. Size: 17" tall by 24" long.
• Wristbands from the University of Maine
  Dark blue rubber wristbands reading: UMAINE CARES. Included with item #483 (University of Maine Banner). Size: .5" wide by 2.5" diameter.
• Quilt from Mary Chesnut
  White quilt with gray pattern reading: Heartbroken. On the quilt are the following decorations: (1) five crosses in snow with each of the five victims names and a small fabric rose sewn onto them; (2) a tree with broken hearts on the branches; (3) a photograph of NIU Campus; (4) a map of northern Illinois with a bullseye on DeKalb; (5) a calendar of the month of February with a red ribbon pinned on the 14th; and (6) two messages of support (one being a Native American proverb). There is also a note sewn on the back explaining the significance of the quilt's creation. Size: 23.5" wide by 29.5" tall.
• Banners from Sycamore Middle School
  Banner #1: Long red, white and black paper banner reading: Forward Together Forward. There is a large paper ribbon on the left side of the banner reading: NIU. At the center of the ribbon is a Cities of DeKalb and Sycamore poster with a huskie dog over a black ribbon logo. At the right edge the banner reads: SMS. Various messages, prayers and signatures cover the banner. Size: 49.5" tall by 138" long. Banner #2: Black paper banner with five red paw-print cutouts and two red cutouts reading: NIU. At the right is a white piece of paper with a huskie dog over black ribbon logo reading: Sycamore Middle School Students: Please take a moment to place your signature on our memorial banner [...]. Size: 33.75" tall by 36" long. Banner #3: Black paper banner shaped like a shield with an envelope reading: A Donation for NIU. Size: 20" wide by 21.5" tall. There are also two cutouts of the letters "I" and "U" that have either fallen off of banner or were never attached.
• Banner and Poster from Tyler Junior College
  White vinyl banner with a red border reading: Apaches to Huskies: Your cries are our cries. Tyler Junior College Apache logo at bottom-left and huskie dog logo at bottom-right. Various messages, prayers and signatures cover the banner. Also included was a poster of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Size: (Banner) 48" tall by 96" long; (Poster) 27" wide by 40" tall.
• Poster from the University of Nebraska
  White glossy-paper poster with a picture of the University of Nebraska flag (red with a white 'N') at half mast in front of a cloudy sky. Poster reads: The students, faculty and staff of the Univerrsity of nebraska would like to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the tragety at Northern Illinois University on February 14, 2008. Letter included to President John Peters from James B. Milliken (President). (Poster) Size: 13" wide by 19" tall; (letter) 8.5" wide by 11" tall.
• Banner from the Rockford Ice Hogs and the Chicago Wolves
  Giant red banner with two huskie dog logos, a Rockford Ice Hogs logo, and a Chicago Wolves logo reading in white: Our Prayers & Thoughts Are With The Students & Families of NIU. There are a couple of messages that mention Daniel Parmenter. Various other messages, prayers and signatures cover the banner. Some Greek symbols. Size: 71.5" tall by 178.25" long.

  Small white poster with five paw-prints painted on in red and black reading: NIU: Welcome Back NIU: Northern: NIU. Size: 11.75" tall by 18.25" long.
