The 2/14 Memorial Project was established to document the tragic events of February 14, 2008 on the Northern Illinois University-DeKalb campus. Documentation includes manuscripts and audiovisual materials as well as artifacts left at the various spontaneous memorials on campus.

The physical archives (RC 54) will not be available to the general researcher. The collection is accessible for scholarly, educational, and journalistic purposes only. the collection is not open to random browsing; however, we will consider all specific requests for access and use. Prior arrangements should be made for scholarly research and study.

The policies of use of the collection, both online and in the Center, for research or publication will be consistent with the laws and University policies concerning Freedom of Information Act disclosures, copyright, privacy, publicity, obscenity and pornography, defamation and resource protection. Use of the content of this website may be used for educational purposes. All other intentions of use must first obtain permission by contacting the Regional History Center.

Credit line should read Regional History Center, Northern Illinois University.

For photographs belonging to the Images of Hope Project the rights are maintained by the contributor, creator, and Northern Illinois University. Owners may store and use the photos as part of public display(s) and storage within University Archives. For permission to use an image contact, Dr. Rhonda Robinson at rrobinson[at]niu.edu.

Researchers wishing to view the physical collection in the Regional History Center must agree to the above statements by written consent.
