Jermaine Dye Autographed White Sox Bat Held by Cubs Fan My mother, Cindy Shelton, holding a White Sox bat that Jermaine Dye autographed for an auction for the 2/14 Scholarship Fund. The White Sox donated autographed items for an auction to benefit the February 14 Scholarship Fund for NIU after the shooting. I out bid others in the auction and gave my mother the bat. Yes, she is wearing a Cubs shirt and that was a coincidence. -

Against Many Odds, Life Carries On After so much sadness and violence the past semester, it was a gift of hope and healing to find a mallard had picked the unlikely place of a roof top to nest and hatch 6 ducklings. Incredibly, with fragility, life would endure. Watching them swim, a joy! Gabel Hall, through a classroom window looking out to a "courtyard" roof top. -
