Welcome Home!
Recovering from injuries. This is what my friends made me the day I was released from the hospital on Feb. 15, 2008.
-
Husky Brothers
My brother Thomas, a NIU alumni, helping me cope with the NIU tragedy.

Four Years at NIU
This was given to me as a graduation present by my friend 3 months after the tragedy. It has photos from my 4 years at NIU, showing that I have made it.

Serenity
The sun had just set on the beach and from where I was standing, and the only place the light was really present was on the bench.

There's Hope (No Darkness Can Outshine the Light)
It is a picture of the sunset, however the picture starts off dark and more light comes as it gets closer to the sun. No matter what darkness you have, gorgeous light is at the end.

Sprout
Water draining in woodchips with sprout growing. A new life is nourished and timidly attempts to emerge from the darkness.

Embrace
A tree is reaching out welcoming someone to sit quietly with the peace and comfort of an embrace.

Together we go forward
When I learned about the Images of Hope project, I wanted to participate. Since my husband and sister are on staff at NIU, I am a part of the NIU extended family and felt the impact of the tragedy.
