History Harvest: Immigration to DeKalb County, Illinois

Fall, 2016, Northern Illinois University

In the fall semester of 2016 Northern Illinois University Libraries, the Northern Illinois University Archives and the Northern Illinois University Regional History Center collaborated with Professor Stanley Arnold of the university’s History Department and twenty three of his students to gather and explore historical materials pertaining to the theme of Immigration to DeKalb County, Illinois.

They organized a History Harvest event in keeping with the standards and procedures described by the University of Nebraska, which has taken the lead in promoting these activities (http://historyharvest.unl.edu), reviewed the materials that members of the public contributed on that day, and have made them available to the public in this online exhibit. The exhibit also includes materials that students selected from the collections of the University Archives and Regional History Center.
